No one ever told me I wasn’t going to love every minute of motherhood.

Motherhood will serve you some of the toughest, most overwhelming, completely frustrating moments you can imagine.

But you’ll handle them. Because that’s just what mothers do.

Those are the ones we live for.

Breathe them in, soak them up, and be completely present in them.

He is my brightest light at the end of a long, exhausting tunnel.

These moments make all of my sacrifices completely worthwhile and they overshadow every single un-enjoyable moment I’ve ever experienced.

Including sitting on a toilet seat covered in someone else’s pee.

Trust me on this one.

Because I’ve been there.

So today, among the other 364 days a year, thank you for giving me the joy of loving another human more than I ever imagined.
